The City Government of Batac has released financial assistance to stallholders affected by the July 5 fire incident at the Batac Public Market.
Assistance ranging from ππ‘π© ππ,πππ.ππ ππ¨ ππ‘π© πππ,πππ.ππ was provided to stallholders based on the assessed damage to each stall.
Following the declaration of a State of Calamity, Mayor Markee R. Chua, with the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice Mayor Albert D. Chua, led efforts to immediately mobilize assistance for vendors.
Alongside the financial assistance, vendors also received food packs from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and rice donations from Megaworld Ilocos and the Yapo family.
The City Government continues to implement recovery measures and coordinate with partner agencies to support the rebuilding of the market and the restoration of vendorsβ livelihoods.
